how to make a Barack Obama avatar for Fallout 3:

I. SHAPE MENU:

general:

heavy/light - all the way light 

thin/wide - 6 clicks

forehead:

small/large - 82 clicks

tall/short - 13 clicks

tilt forward/back (parameter automatically adjusts others) - 20 clicks

brow:

high/low  (parameter automatically adjusts others) - all the way to the right 

up/down inner - 17 clicks (this parameter more than any other determines how sympathetic you want your obama to be.  we liked ours about 17 clicks from the left sympathetic.)

up/down outer - 90 clicks (this parameter more than any other determines if you want your obama to seem “surprised sympathetic” or “grave sympathetic.”  we prefer 90 clicks grave.)

eyes:

down/up - 37 clicks

small/large - all the way to the right

together/apart - all the way to the left

nose:  (note: perfecting obama’s nose is impossible.  we cannot perfectly duplicate the rounded tip of his nose, or the slight bump at the bridge.)

bridge depth - 21 clicks

down/up - 32 clicks

flat/pointed - 15 clicks

nostril tilt - 20 clicks

nostril wide/thin - 55 clicks

mouth: (note: like his nose, obama’s lip shape and proportions are difficult to duplicate. his
mouth is wide, yet his lips are thin, and his top and bottom lip are relatively the same size.

First we picked the preset “Chocolate” then we moved all the sliders to 0 (note: on this menu

do you get actual numerical values AND these sliders are on the RGB scale, so they go from

0 to 255, unlike all the other sliders you’ve been dealing with, which only go to 100.) (Another

note: this hair color does not reflect the salt and pepper look Obama has developed as of

11/03/08. This is the 2004 Democratic Convention era Obama. If you can figure out how to

do salt and pepper let us know).

FACIAL HAIR

We did not add any facial hair.

Note:  this isn’t a dead ringer for Barack Obama.  This is as closely as we could portray his likeness with the options we were given.
